Meeting Winona LaDuke

So I had the amazing honor of meeting Winona LaDuke today. If you do not know who she is, look through my posts for the article.
I was worried at first because other members from my org had the opportunity to meet with Winona at the time I went and no one showed up. Eventually a friend showed up right before she did. As disappointed as I was that not a lot of people came, I loved that I pretty much got to meet and speak with her one on one.
I also got to share dinner with her and a small group of people and listen to her speak about the things she’s done in her life. She’s been doing what she does for over 30 years (starting when she was just 18 (she just turned 52)).
She knew one of my moms!!! (I have many “moms” who are my friends mom but treat me like their own <3) Plus I could relate to a lot of stuff she talked about (she’s Ojibwe), so I like knew the language and some of the stuff she was talking about.
I will put pics up and give a small summary of what’s going on in each one. :) I will also be uploading an hour long video of her speaking (which sucks b/c she spoke for 2 hours but my flip doesn’t have that much memory :/) but still you will learn quite a bit :)
